Coming from someone who for the past four years of my life until now, only bought black market cannabis products, I have a solid understanding of the pros and cons of black market weed vs. legalized weed (I live in a legal state now btw).
BLACKMARKET: THE PROS
I am not going to lie, I miss the days I would text my plug and pick up from them. It was such a simple process. They would maybe have three different products at the most that would all get the job done, and then it was my choice how much I wanted to spend. The weed was for the most part pretty good, and it was pretty standard pricing. It was always exciting picking up, as you never knew what weed you would get. Sometimes it was absolute fire, and other times it was boof, but that added excitement to it. If I was lucky enough, they would occasionally even smoke me up, and some of those moments are my favorite experiences to this day. They always knew how to sesh better than anyone else.
BLACKMARKET: THE CONS
Now, there were some negatives. The main one being that if for some reason a cop pulled up when you were picking up or pulled you over on the way home, you could go to jail. Yeah, that would suck. Another annoying thing that I mentioned before was that you never knew how the weed would be. It was the worst when I picked up and got boof. The last big negative was who knows what pesticides were being added to the weed. I like to think that no one would put anything harmful in it, but who knows. It could have always been by mistake.

LEGALIZED: THE PROS
Nowadays, I jump in my car, drive over to the dispensary, and have a budtender asking me what I want within minutes. These dispensaries are beautiful facilities with their own unique themes, from coral reefs to basketball. They have every cannabis product you could possibly want and have budtenders that will help you choose the perfect product for you.
LEGALIZED: THE CONS
Now let's get into some negatives of it. Who would think that too many options would be a bad thing? Well, I never thought that until I went into a dispensary, and they had 100's of options, and I had no clue where to start. I always end up asking them what they recommend, but when I do that, there is always the risk they will sell me a product that they need to get rid of. Is that normal? I don't think so, but it definitely has happened to me before. Also, the pricing is absurd. The crazy stuff is so expensive, no less than $10 a g. I switch between getting normal-priced weed and the expensive weed, but the expensive weed is always so much better. Is it worth it? Like sort of, I am high as balls every time, but at the same time, my wallet is always hurting after the fact.
AND THE WINNER IS...
I will always miss the black market days, but legalized weed has to win this debate. Not having to worry that you are going to get arrested makes legalized weed so much better, but not just that, knowing that every time you will get great weed that has been tested is something that everyone should have access to and is why legalization needs to hurry up and happen everywhere.
Thanks for listening, and keep getting high.
